David Lloyd began his career in comics after working in advertising , which he describes as useful training for his future because it teaches you ‘ how to make someone want to buy what you’re drawing... ‘.
He first attracted buyers when he started drawing for Marvel UK. He was instrumental in creating one of their most popular characters – the crime fighting vigilante, Night-Raven - which became the precursor of the character he’s most famous for bringing to life in V For Vendetta, with Alan Moore.
Since then he’s worked on many things, including, Espers, Hellblazer, Slaine, Aliens, Marlowe, Global Frequency, and War Stories, and also produced an acclaimed crime graphic novel, Kickback, which is now available in a digital version on Amazon.
His work for European publishers has included contributions to an Asterix tribute collection, and a book of war memoirs, Words of Stars. His latest work in print is a collection of short stories, Materia Oscura , which was published in Italy and Spain.
His current, and entire occupation, is the publishing of an exclusively online comic arts magazine, Aces Weekly – www.acesweekly.co.uk - which features top talent from around the globe.
