Beautiful Valérian & Laureline page from one of the greatest teams in comics, Jean-Claude Mézières and Pierre Christin. This is from the 3rd book “Le Pays sans Étoile” (1972), which was prepublished in Pilote in 1970/71…it’s part of the famous sequence where Laureline had to dress in a very revealing outfit, which supposedly served as the inspiration to one of Star Wars most famous scenes, Princess Leia in her famous slave outfit…

Jean-Claude Mézières is a French comic strip artist and illustrator. He is the father of the science fiction series Valérian et Laureline, with a childhood friend, Pierre Christin (scriptwriter), and his sister, Évelyne Tranlé (colourist). Mézières has received international recognition through a number of prestigious awards.
