Absolutely incredible painted Valérian & Laureline cover, by the incomparable Jean-Claude Mézières, for issue 492 of Pilote magazine (April 1969), which marked the beginning of the 3rd Valérian & Laureline adventure (or rather 2nd part of the 2nd adventure) „Terre en Flammes“. The story later formed, together with the name-giving 1968 story „La Cité des eaux mouvantes“, the very first Valérian & Laureline album (1970).
This is actually the 2nd ever Valérian & Laureline cover and the very first to feature our two heroes so prominently…just gorgeous!!!
