1. If you could tell us what triggered that passion about comic art and how you acquired your first original piece of art ?

 

My passion for original art was triggered 15 years ago when I saw in person covers that were published in former Yugoslavia when I was a kid. They were covers made by domestic artists under licence of a big Italian publisher (Sergio Bonelli Editore).

 

I first bought one cover, but at the end of that same month I owned at least 100 of them :)

 

 

2. If i could add to my collection any artwork currently displayed in 2DG galleries?

 

It's hard to say with so many museum pieces displayed on 2DG. But that'd definetly be one of Giraud's best (mid Blueberry period) pages such as:

3. If i could keep only one piece of art from my collection?

 

That would be most of my Torpedo pages, but I would stick to this one particularly:

4. If i could get another chance to purchase an artwork that i missed in the past?

 

I would definetly buy more Hermann pages. And then once again more Hermann pages!

 

I missed many opportunities on buying his art, especially some Bernard Prince (late albums) and Towers of Bois-Maury black and white pages.

 

 

 

5. If i could buy any of the artworks listed for sale on 2DG at the moment?

 

Hard to choose but that would probably be this one:

I can hardly await for the latest Blacksad that was published in France last month.

 

 

 

Finally, this is BorisB's answer to a question provided by Valerian the previous What...if? :

 

Do you display original art on your house walls for daily enjoyment?

 

I try to display as much art on my walls as possible. Usually there are around 30 pieces on my walls. From time to time I make changes.

If the art stays too long in one of my maps there is a big chance it will never be framed so I usally sell them.

Also some art looks great on scan/map but doesn't look good when framed and displayed on wall.
