Description
Probably one of the most beautiful and largest (larger than a sunday strip) Walt Kelly originals in existence; I am more than happy to be able to ad such an incredible piece of art to my collection.
It was done for one of the yearbooks (probably 1966 or 1967) of the National Cartoonist Society. Recently the art was featured as a large double-spread page in the Walt Kelly/Pogo artbook by Andrae/Laqua.

About Walt Kelly
Walter Crawford Kelly, Jr. commonly known as Walt Kelly, was an American animator and cartoonist, best known for the comic strip Pogo. He began his animation career in 1936 at Walt Disney Studios, contributing to Pinocchio, Fantasia, and Dumbo. In 1941 Kelly transferred at the age of 28 to work at Dell Comics, where he created Pogo, which eventually became his platform for political and philosophical commentary.
