About Yannick

Yannick Hodbert was a photographer before he turned to creating comics. Signing with only his first name, he made his debut in 1969, becoming one in a long line of artists to illustrate 'Pif le Chien' in Pif Gadget. In 1976, he created the 'Pif' spin-off series 'Hercule'. Yannick introduced numerous side characters in this series, which he drew until 1994, and was also a regular feature in the German magazine YPS. An new series was started by Bamboo publishers in 2001. Yannick briefly made a series of his own in Pif Gadget, called 'Les Apprentis Sorciers'. In 1988, he created 'La Morgueluse' with Michel Motti and the characters 'Louping et Tonneau'. Between 1981 and 1986 he illustrated about 60 pantomime comic strips that came with Malabar chewing gum, also often in cooperation with Motti. In the 1990s, Yannick turned to other magazines, such as Miroir du Cyclisme ('Pierre Lagagne'), Pif Découverte ('Nanouk') and Dauphiné Libéré ('Croglok'). In 1995, Yannick joined the French Disney Productions. He drew several stories and covers with the ducks and the mice. He also started some series of his own in Mickey Jeux and Le Journal de Mickey, such as 'Super Pig' and 'Cool Cool'. He also worked with Disney colleague Gilles Corre (Erroc) on humorous series for Éditions Bamboo, such as 'Plans de Carrière' (2006-2008) and 'Magicland' (2012). Text (c) Lambiek

astrum Alors là !! J'ai 10 ans ! Toute mon enfance. J'adorai cette série par Yannick. Son dessin si dynamique et son encrage spontané me ravissaient. Une belle belle madeleine !
