About Daniel Ceppi

Daniel Ceppi is a comic book author, born in Geneva, Switzerland. He is, among other things, the creator of the series Stéphane Clément, chroniques d'un voyageur. Daniel Ceppi was born and raised in Genève. He attended the school for decorative arts, where he won several prizes. After his studies, he went to Sans Frontière publishers, where he produced the first episode of his 'Stéphane' series. He soon turned to Humanoïdes Associés publishers, where he continued the series in Métal Hurlant magazine. From 1981 to 1986 the 'Stéphane' series appeared in À Suivre and in albums published by Casterman. Inspired by perfectionists like Hergé, Ceppi completely redrew the first three episodes from 1984 to 1988. At the same time, he contributed several short stories to some collective albums and magazines, along with writer Vépy. In the monthly Pilote, Ceppi teamed up with writer Juan Martinez and created 'L'Ombre de Jaïpur'. In 1991 he gave his own interpretation of the manuscript of Marelle's 'Sharon' in the comic 'CD Corps Diplomatique'. A year later, he created 'La Nuit des Clandestins' with Pierre Christin. He also contributed work to the erotic collective albums 'Noël Fripon' and 'L'Été Fripon'. Text (c) Lambiek
