About Noah Van Sciver

Noah Van Sciver is an Ignatz award-winning cartoonist and graphic novel artist. Originally from New Jersey, his early work appeared in local magazines, newspapers and fanzines from the Colorado-area, including a weekly strip called '4 Questions' (2007-2015) in the alternative Denver-based newspaper Westword. He first came to comic readers' attention in 2006 with his critically acclaimed comic book series 'Blammo'. The first four issues were self-published, after which the title was distributed through the independent comic book shop Kilgore Books & Comics in Denver. Van Sciver's work has appeared in 'Spongebob Comics', 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles', the Best American Comics, as well as countless graphic anthologies like Mome and Mineshaft. Van Sciver has been a regular contributor to MAD Magazine since December 2011 and he has created several graphic novels through Fantagraphics, including 'The Hypo: The Melancholic Young Lincoln' (2012), 'Saint Cole' (2015) and the 'Fante Bukowski: Struggling Writer' graphic novella series (2015). Kilgore Books released Van Sciver's autobiographical mini-comic 'My Hot Date' in 2015, which won the 'Best Story' Ignatz Award at the Small Press Expo. Van Sciver has lived and worked in Columbus, Ohio, since 2015. Text (c) Lambiek
