About Philippe Chapelle

Philippe Chapelle was born in Berchem Sainte Agathe, and began his career working in advertising around 1985. In 1989 he worked with Philippe Aymond and Hugues Labiano on the series 'Canal Choc' under the guidance of Jean-Claude Mézières and Pierre Christin. He then worked as an illustrator for several years (children's press, corporate communication, educational publications). In 1997, he returned to comics with the authentic historical one-shot 'Armée Secrète', about the rise of the French resistence during World War II (script by Lucie Aubrac, album published by Le Téméraire). With Frédéric Marniquet, he made 'Le Cité de l'éternel Retour' (2005) and 'Les Morsures du Désert' (2006) for Albin Michel. Text (c) Lambiek
