Monsieur Pinpon

Coming from Rennes, Stnislas Barthélemy studied interior decoration, but turned to making comics in 1982. After publishing his own fanzines Electrode and Recto-Verso, his name appeared in Jean-Christophe Menu's fanzine Le Lynx. Next, Futuropolis published two albums of his work: 'La Grande Course' and 'Le Pigeon' in 1986 and 1988. In the late eighties, he associated himself with Laurent Rullier and together they started the series 'Victor Levallois', of which albums were published by Alpen and later Les Humanoïdes Associés between 1990 and 2004. While working for Tintin Reporter, Stanislas co-founded the alternative publishing house L'Association in 1990 together with Jean-Christophe Menu, Lewis Trondheim, David B., Mattt Konture, Patrice Killoffer and Mokeït. His work was then published in this association's magazine Lapin and several anthologies in the collection Patte de Mouche. Stanislas was also the artist of the biopic in comics format of Hergé, called 'Les aventures d'Hergé', that was written by Jean-Luc Fromental and José-Luis Bocquet and published by Reporter in 1991. Several revised and updated editions have been published afterwards. With the same company he published 'Le Savant Fou' in 2001.
