About Pham Minh Son

Pham Minh Son, who signs his comics work with Son or Sonk, founded a comics magazine in his native Vietnam, before he began a career as an industrial designer. He moved to France 1973, where he starts doing decoration work, as well as advertising illustration. He met Didier Convard in 1981, with whom he created the comics 'Songe et les Forges de la Guerre' (Magnard, 1985) and 'A L'Ombre des Dieux' (Lombard, 1986). He also did 'Croc Blanc' with scripts by Jean Ollivier at Hachette publishers. He drew the stories 'Margot, L'Enfant Bleue' and 'Phénix et la Dragon' in Vécu in the early 1990s. In 1990, he began the series 'Maître Chang' in cooperation with the scriptwriter Robert Genin in Hello Bédé. Text (c) Lambiek
