About Paul Glaudel

Paul Glaudel, who was born in Algeria, made his first comics for some Belgian fanzines in 1977. After his studies in fine and plastic arts, he started out professionally in 1983. At first an illustrator in the audiovisual field, Glaudel met comic writer Scotch Arleston during the 1980s. With Arleston, Glaudel set up multiple projects, like the series 'Manie Swing' and 'Les Maîtres Cartographes'. At the same time, Glaudel worked for several magazines, like Mikado, Circus and Spirou, where he assisted Pierre Seron on two episodes of 'Les Petits Hommes'. Paul Glaudel uses a very personal style, balancing between realism and caricaturism. Text (c) Lambiek
