The graphic novel Krimi tells a (fictional) background story of Fritz Lang´s famous movie M: Lang helps the fictional Kommissar Lohmann - one of the main characters in M and Lang´s next movie The Testament of Doctor Mabuse - investigate a (real) serial killer in Weimar Germany in the late 1920s.
This particular page is a flashback to Metropolis - an earlier, and even more famous, Lang movie. It shows a scene from early in the movie: a tower siren signaling shift change for the poor workers in the city´s underground factories.
