About Thierry Gioux

Thierry Gioux was born near the coast of Normandy, and lived there until leaving Rouen for the Basque country in 1998. After studying English Language and Plastic Arts, he began working on his first comics projects. His first albums were the oblong 'Déserteurs!' (Futuropolis, 1988) and the third volume in the series 'Si le coran m'était conté' (script Youssef Seddik, Alef, 1989). He also cooperated on some fanzines and succeeded Philippe Adamov on the series 'Le Vent des Dieux', starting with the sixth album in 1991. Fascinated by Mexico and its history, he created 'Waldeck' with writer Luc Delisse for the publishing house Glénat, a biographical series about the life of poet, explorer and commedian Frédéric Waldeck. Two books were published in 1998 and 2000. He creates the historical series 'Hauteville House' with Fred Duval for Delcourt since 2004. Text (c) Lambiek
