This is one of just five Eisner paintings that were commissioned by Warner Brothers for the first made-for-TV Spirit movie back in 1986. This watercolor-on-board concept illustration, depicts a fencing scene between the Spirit and the villain inside a museum.

About Will Eisner

William Erwin Eisner, known as Will Eisner, is an American comic book writer. He was the creator of the Spirit and of the concept of the "graphic novel" and its first applications in the United States, as well as a theorist and editorial director. He is a major figure in 20th-century comics and one of its greatest authors.
