About Pierre Le Goff

Pierre Le Goff began his professional comics career at the S.F.P.I. in 1949. For this publisher, he cooperated on magazines like Zorro, Clan, Héros Magazine, Zorro Magazine and Red Sheriff. He often signed his work for these periodicals Pierre Brisson. From 1954 Le Goff also worked for other periodicals, like Spirou (several 'Belles Histoires de l'Oncle Paul'), Caméra 34 (an episode of 'Bob Mallard'), Pistolin (the series 'Garnerin' with Jean-Michel Charlier) and Avant-Garde (illustrations for Ray Bradbury stories). For the S.E.G. group, he cooperated on Sans Peur ('L'Expédition du Ri-kiki', 'On a volé un Scaphandrier') and the collection À Travers le Monde' (Chasseurs d'Araignées', 'Bob Flash'). In de second half of the 1950s, he was present in Hurrah! and L'Intrépide with several short stories, and also contributed to Lisette and La Semaine de Suzette. Between 1957 and 1961 he cooperated with Pierre Le Guen on 'Tomic' in Téméraire (Ed. Artima). From 1958 to 1963 he illustrated several short stories for Vaillant with Roger Lécureux. With this scenarist he also made the series 'Captain James' in Totem, which was originally drawn by Lucien Nortier. In the 1960s Le Goff was mostly active for magazines like Télé Jeunes ('Dan Panther', 'Gavroche') and Francs-Jeux, as well as dailies like Paris-Jour and Libération. Text (c) Lambiek
