Description
Original first page from one of Poland’s most important comics, considered Krzysztof Gawronkiewicz’s opus magnum. Achtung Zelig! has been recognized both in Poland and internationally and is one of only two Polish titles included by Paul Gravett in the prestigious 1001 Comics You Must Read Before You Die.
This sheet was first published in AQQ No. 2 (1993) and features a unique editorial history: an additional sheet with a revised head of the main character, Zelig, replaced the original in the 2004 album edition, and the lower panel was omitted, making this page the only complete record of the original composition.
Highlights:
• French edition: Casterman, August 2005
• Awards: Prix Millepages BD (2005)
• Nominations: Salon BD Nîmes (2006), Prix Festival BD Vaison la Romaine (2006), Prix Saint-Michel, Brussels (2006)
Part of a private collection of 8 pages (9 album pages) and the original cover — the second largest collection of Achtung Zelig! material after the POLIN Museum.
