Commentaire
This is the second and last story by Pedrocchi and Pagot about Snow White's entourage (after "Snow White and the Wizard Basilisk", published in May 1939) and the oldest known Disney Italian comics whose original art has survived.
The story was published for the first time, one page per issue, from number 101 to number 121 of "PAPERINO" newspaper, starting from November 30th, 1939.
Later on, the pages were reassembled and adapted for ALBI DELLA ROSA num. 126, published in 1957; the layout was modified due to format requirements and the panels per line were reduced from 3 to 2.
It is very interesting to note how the Italic tradition can be seen in the depiction of secondary characters, from Faina (beech marten) to her fellow robbers, who almost seem to wear costumes with carnival reminiscences.
