"it's almost criminal how easy David makes it to write a script. He makes a three-Dimensional stage of the individual panel, complete in authentic detail, nonetheless uncluttered und utterly readable. He creates actors whose dramatic range is startling, whose best and most compelling moments are wordless."
Frank Miller

About David Mazzucchelli

David Mazzucchelli studied at the Rhode Island School of Design, and began his comics career in the early 1980s. For several years, he drew comics in the superhero genre. He had a regular run on Marvel's 'Daredevil' and developed the popular 'Daredevil: Born Again' storyline with Frank Miller. He also worked with Miller on 'Batman - Year One' for DC Comics. Soon he developed his own style and in 1990, he submitted his portfolio to Raw Magazine, but it was rejected. Years later, after three issues of his highly-praised magazine Rubber Blanket, Mazzucchelli transformed the Paul Auster novel 'City of Glass' to a graphic novel with artist Paul Karasik (Avon Books, 1994). David Mazzucchelli's short stories can be seen in the magazine Drawn & Quarterly and his cover art has graced issues of The New Yorker. In 2009 he published his graphic novel 'Asterios Polyp' with Pantheon publishers. Mazzucchelli was a teacher at the Rhode Island School of Design and the School of Visual Arts in New York City.
