Yannick Hodbert was a photographer before he turned to creating comics. Signing with only his first name, he made his debut in 1969, becoming one in a long line of artists to illustrate 'Pif le Chien' in Pif Gadget. In 1976, he created the 'Pif' spin-off series 'Hercule'. Yannick introduced numerous side characters in this series, which he drew until 1994, and was also a regular feature in the German magazine YPS. An new series was started by Bamboo publishers in 2001.
