A fan of comics since his youth, Dinan-born Fred Simon started a fanzine while still at college. Afterwards, he studied Plastic Arts in Rennes and launched the Studio Psurde with some friends.He worked on several projects with this studio, including illustrating postcards and cooperating on the collective comic album 'Si Septennat m'était Conté, that was published by Vents d'Ouest in 1988. He then moved to Rennes, where Lucien Rollin helped him getting some of his stories published in Circus magazine.
