Dick Fletcher was staff artist at the Chicago Tribune in the 1940s. He assisted on such strips as 'Dan Dunn' and 'Harold Teen'. Between 1946 to 1951, he drew the hospital strip 'Surgeon Stone'. In 1949, he also drew 'Jed Cooper American Scout'. In the early 1940s Fletcher also contributed to Dell comic books like 'Gang Busters'. He was active in advertising illustration in the 1940s and 1950s.
