Born in Congo, Daniël Desorgher studied at the Institut Saint-Luc in Brussels, where he learned the finer points of the comics profession from Eddy Paape. He had internships with Studio Greg and Studio Attanasio, where he participated in the series 'Les As', 'Spaghetti' and 'Johnny Goodbye'. He joined Studio Peyo in 1972 and became a longtime contributor to Peyo's 'Smurfs' projects. Desorgher has drawn 'Smurfs' comic albums as well as illustrations for merchandise. He also made new gags with Peyo's gag series 'Poussy' for Spirou magazine in the late 1970s, and another series for Schtroumpf in the early 1990s.
