Christian Paty was born in Nantes. After his graduation in 1989, he began his career as a roughman with a communication agency. He eventually became art director, while he started making amateur comics for fanzines like Tentacule from Rennes and Faille Temporelle from Paris. He made his professional debut as a comic artist in 1996, when he was hired by Vents d'Ouest to make the series 'Damoiselle Gorge' with scriptwriter Tiburce Oger. Two books were published in 1997 and 1998. He has since then worked almost exclusively for Soleil Productions. He started out working with Ange on 'La Cicatrice du Souvenir' (three books, 2001-2002), 'Kookaburra Universe' (two books, 2003-2004) and the fifth book of 'La geste des Chevaliers Dragons' (2006).
