Carmen Levi Viale is a Spanish comic artist, who is mainly known for her religious work. She began her career in the 1960s, when she worked for the Spanish publishing house Toray. She was later affiliated with Josep Toutain's Selecciones Ilustradas agency, through which she has drawn stories for the British magazine Roxy and Valentine of the publisher Fleetway. She also drew for the French publishing house Impéria, before settling in this country in the 1970s. There, she went into history as the only female artist who has drawn José Cabrero Arnal's 'Pif le Chien' in Pif Gadget. She was subsequently a writer and illustrator for many books with religious themes for Éditions Fleurus, Bayard and Éditions Signe. She won an award for her comic about Finnish evangelist and baroness Mathilde Wrede, which she made with Alex Lochen for Éditions Signe in 1989.
