Bill Tidy sold his first cartoon to an English-speaking Japanese newspaper in 1955. He took to cartooning professionally in 1957. Tidy is famed for his cartoon strips 'The Fosdyke Saga' and 'The Cloggies'. He also drew 'Kegbuster' and 'Dr. Whittle', which ran for over 25 years. He regularly contributed to Classic FM magazine, Private Eye, The Oldie and Punch.
