Tristan Demers is the creator of 'Gargouille', one of the most popular characters in Quebec comics. He created 'Gargouille' when he was only ten years old, in 1983. At first, the character appeared in some self-published books, but upon increasing popularity he became the spokesman of TVJQ, a children's television program. Demers soon became a regular guest on television shows, as well as a published comics artist. From 1988, the recently founded publishing house Mille-Îles published a series of comic albums with the character. 'Gargouille' got a large merchandise line, diffused by Dimédia.
