Jean-Michel Arroyo is a French illustrator and comics artist. He made the drawings for Jacques Hiron's comic book 'La Foire aux Frisés' in 2003, and subsequently adapted Hiron's World War II novel 'Le Paquebot des sables' as a comic series for Joker Éditions between 2004 and 2009. With Philippe Chanoinat, he made the thriller series 'Pierre Baumont' (Joker, 2007-2008) and an adaptation of the Émile Zola novel 'Germinal' (Glénat, 2010).
Arroyo has worked on several historical aviation series for Éditions Zéphyr, starting with 'Jack Blues' with Frédéric Zumbiehl in 2007 and 2008. This was followed by 'L'Escadrille des Têtes Brûlées' with Pierre Veys and fellow artist Vincent Jagerschmidt between 2010 and 2012. In 2013, Arroyo and Zumbiehl were assigned to produce 'Buck Danny Classic', a new series starring the classic aviator created by Victor Hubinon and Jean-Michel Charlier in historical settings.
