Yvan Le Louarn, who published under the name Chaval, was a French humorist. Born in Bordeaux, Chaval became famous in the 1950s, when he published in several major newspapers. He also made a couple of short films, such as 'Conte médiocre' and 'Les oiseaux sont des cons'. Chaval, who became neurotic after his wife died, commited suicide in Paris in January 1968. His friend Mario Ruspoli made two short films about him: 'Chaval' and 'Le Chavalanthrope'.
