Takashi Doya (also known as Takashi Tsuchiya / Shinsuke Maki)
Born in Wakayama Prefecture, Japan.

May 1960: Debuted with "Ninja", published in Volume 4 of Ninpu. His name appeared as Takashi Tsuchiya.

August 1960: Published "Broken Sword" in Issue 3 of Ninpu Bessatsu, again under the name Takashi Tsuchiya.

June 1962: Began the Detective Ken series through Pacific Library, marking the start of his Action Series.

October 8, 1962: Benkeishi was published in the first volume of Gun & Gun.

June 1963: Started publishing the Kikutaro Assassination Records series through Pacific Library.

September 15, 1963: Akai Bat began serialization in Weekly Shonen Friend.

January 1964: Pacific Library launched his Swordsmen’s Tales series.

July 5, 1964: Began serialization of Black Giant in Weekly Shonen Magazine.

October 1964: Joined the Yokoyama Production team.

November 1964: Launched the Young People series.

March 1965: Published the Muzan Kikutaro Jinjutsu Chronicle series.

August 1965: Began work on the Non-Fiction Theater series.

March 1966: Started the Trick Theater series.

Known as a "walking dictionary" among professionals at Yokoyama Production, he was admired for his depth of knowledge and sincerity. His artwork had a beautiful touch, and he skillfully wrote across genres including modern, historical (jidai), and girls’ manga.

He also contributed articles on gekiga (dramatic pictures) techniques in issues 12–14 of Yokomichi Soreyu. In Issue 25 (December 1968), he is identified as having worked under the pen name Shinsuke Maki, particularly for youth magazines. Even after the decline of the rental book industry, he remained active. The name Shinsuke Maki also appeared in hardcover books by Bunyosha and in the short and medium-length story magazine Bugei.
