Like many, I have wanted to add a piece by Winsor McCay to my collection since I first discovered Little Nemo. A piece that I both liked and I could afford proved to me much more elusive than I would have imagined but today I managed to add an important piece to my collection.

This piece hung on the wall of a bar across the street from the New York Journal American building in the 1920's that McCay and other famous artists worked in. It was their frequent watering hole. This piece was done as a rebuttal to a piece done by TAD, one of the more famous turn of the century editorial and early cartoon artists. The piece by TAD is a reproduction on this but the rest of the piece is original including the border. Art was bought from Illustration House and came to them from the decedents/owners of the bar where this piece hung for almost a century.
