About Jean-Paul Bordier

Jean-Paul Bordier is a French comic book artist from Lower Normandy. He grew up reading Franco-Belgian classics like 'Astérix', 'Tintin' and Picsou magazine, and later explored the oeuvres of authors like Tolkien, Herbert, Miyazaki, Toriyama, Giraud, Loisel and Howe. He had a three-year training in art school in Nantes, where he studied alongside comic artists like Benoît Dellac, Benjamin Loirat and Pierre-Denis Goux. Shortly after his exams, he was asked by Jean-Luc Istin of Éditions Soleil to delve into Britton legends with writer Thierry Gloris for the new series 'Souvenirs d'un Elficologue', of which they made three books between 2009 and 2012. Bordier additionally participated in Soleil's collective productions like 'Les Contes du Korrigan' and 'Guerrieres Celtes', all dealing with the Celtic universe. Bordier drew the fourth book in Istin's heroic fantasy series 'Elfes' (2013) and the fourth in the series 'Les Maîtres Inquisiteurs' (script Nicolas Jarry, 2016). Text (c) Lambiek
