NAPOLEON - Un strip de 1960

Roger Joseph Armstrong was a funny animal artist for the Dell/Western/Gold Key comic books from the 1940s to the 1980s. Under the Disney label, he did stories with characters like 'Hiawatha', 'The Seven Dwarfs' and 'Super Goof'. Throughout the 1940s, he illustrated such Warner Bros titles as 'Mary Jane & Sniffles', 'Bugs Bunny' and 'Porky Pig', as well as several Walter Lantz titles. From the mid-1960s to the early 1970s, he did several Hanna-Barbera features, such as 'Flintstones', 'Funky Phantom' and 'Where's Huddles', while also working as a storyboarder for the H-B cartoons. He was also a versatile artist for the daily press. In the 1950s, he drew the daily 'Ella Cinders' strip, originally created by Bill Conselman and Charles Plumb. From 1978 to 1988 he did the daily and Sunday 'Scamp' pages. His other daily credits include 'Bugs Bunny' (1942-44, 1979-81), 'Napoleon & Uncle Elby' (1950-1960) and 'Little Lulu' (1963-67). Armstrong was active throughout the 1980s, doing illustrations for juvenile books with Disney characters. He has additionally taught art classes at several art school. Text (c) Lambiek
