Description

Huge preliminary (17" x 23"). There was a film adaptation of the Novel in 1986 starring Sean Connery. This ilustration was published in the Sanjulian HC released by Norma in 1984 (page 18) and by Glenat in 1985.

Fantastique Travail de Manuel Sanjulián sur Ce Grand Film de Umberto Eco , Je ne savais pas qu'il avait Collaboré au Projet , j'ai Les Lithographies des Originaux de Bilal , Blanc-Dumont , Druillet , Nicollet , Etc....mais pas cette illustration , C'est Publié ? ou c'est Resté inédit !! , Pièce Très Désirable , que du Bonheur , Fabulous , Félicitations ✨ .

Nice work for a best seller book and also a masterpiece in Eco's work . Maybe ls it a too esoteric piece ? We cannot tell for sure where William of Baskerville ls.

About Manuel Sanjulián

Manuel Pérez Clemente (better known as Sanjulián) is a Spanish painter, most notable for his magazine and novel covers. He was born 24 June 1941 in Barcelona, and studied at Belles Arts of Sant Jordi. Sanjulián began working for Selecciones Ilustradas circa 1962, and Warren Publishing in 1970. He has had multiple shows at The Society of Illustrators in New York City, and was a guest at the 2008 Emerald City ComiCon.
