The non-profit Inkwell Awards, devoted to promoting the art of comic book inking, has released the list of 24 artists participating in its fifth annual Sinnott Inking Challenge Spotlight.
According to founder/director Bob Almond, the Spotlight Challenge, which grew out of its more inclusive, original Joe Sinnott Inking Challenge, showcases other contemporary, fan-favorite talents on a more limited scale with veteran published inkers who may or may not have participated in other challenges.

About Joe Prado
Joe Prado began his comic career working in the Brazilian Market of comics, starting with the mini-series U.F.O Team, written by Marcelo Cassaro (of Image’s Victory fame). Over the years Joe has worked in virtually every graphic medium conceivable, from comics to editorial illustration, from advertising to graphic design and from fantasy illustration to teaching fine arts. In 2004, Joe had his first break in the US Comics Market sharing the penciling duties with Ivan Reis on Action Comics for DC Comics.
Since then, Joe has been working on some of the most popular titles in comics today, such as Superman, Teen Titans, Birds of Prey, and on the much acclaimed Rann/Thanagar War series.
Joe’s eye for detail is most evident on his spectacular covers which can be seen on the many issues of Red Sonja and Battlestar Galactica for Dynamite! Comics. His most recent work is a one-shot called Green Lantern/Sinestro Corps as well as Checkmate and Black Canary, and a 2-part story of Witchblade for Top Cow.
