About Thierry Démarez

Thierry Démarez is active in several artistic fields. He is a set designer with the Comédie Française in Paris, and also works as a colorist, illustrator and comic artist. Born in Drancy, he studied Fine Arts in Valenciennes, model building at the ASFODESS in Montreuil and painting at the CREAR in Gouvieux. He published his first comic stories in fanzines like Style BD and Le Goinfre before creating his first album for Soleil Productions in 2002, 'Le Continent Premier' (script by Jean-Christophe Derrien). He then joined Valérie Mangin in the creation of 'Le Dernier Troyen', a science fiction serial about the rise of a galactic Rome, that published by Soleil since 2004. He drew the 7th book in the heroic fantasy series 'La Geste des Chevaliers Dragons' and continued to work with this series' writers duo Ange on the new series 'Marie des Dragons' in 2009. In 2012, he published the first book of 'Alix Senator', another collaboration with Valérie Mangin featuring an aged version of Jacques Martin's classic Roman. Démarez has also participated in collective projects like 'Paroles de Poilus' and 'Paroles d’étoiles'.
