“The Intrudors from Gallas” was originally published in Ranger #38 (04-06-1966) until #40 (18-06-1966) and in Look and Learn #232 (25-06-1966) until #237 (30-07-1966).
Right panel was originally published in Dutch magazine Sjors #12 (22-03-1969)

The left image appeared in Ranger in 1967 but was replaced with the right image in Sjors in 1969. It seems likely that the original artwork had disappeared and Don Lawrence was asked to redraw the page. When pages of The Trigan Empire were found in Fleetway's archive the original was rediscovered.

Both panels telling the same story. What differences do we notice?
1. Close-up fisherman (second picture); same person with different clothes. The second one seems to be better dressed for a rough sea. The colour of the blue hat looks a bit weird (shiny) in print, and it was replaced with a colour matching the fishermans coat. The sweater collar covers the long open neck, it is a logical choice I think.
2. The attack (upper right); these pictures differ the most. Same POV (point of view) but the composition (position men) has changed. I slightly prefer the left one (the original).
3. The helmet (left under) got some more detail. (DL loved working on the details). The picture right under is in monochrome colours, maybe for artistic or dramatic reasons.
4. Both panels have one picture without frame-lines, but not in the same position of the panel.
5. Have you noticed that the first stroke of the second panel is shorter than the other strokes? In the publication this has been corrected somehow.
