Description

The Kurdles est un ouvrage singulier, destiné aux enfants.
Synopsis: un petit ours, Sally, est rejeté par son possesseur, une petite fille. Abandonné au bord de la route, il fait la connaissance d'un trio de personnages singuliers qui l'invitent à une quête: celle de débarrasser leur maison d'une fourrure vivante et chantante. Après bien des péripéties, dont l'emploi de l'acide salycique extrait de l'écorce de bouleau, ils y parviennent. Sally devient leur compagnon en résidant définitivement avec eux.
Entre Lewis Caroll, Carl Barks et Jeff Smith , Goodin réussit un ouvrage magistral, non traduit en français, à ma connaissance

Robert Goodin a tenté plusieurs voies durant sa vie professionnelle. Il a fait une entrée fracassante dans le monde de l’animation en travaillant à « Duckman », « the Wild Thomberries » et récemment à « American Dad ».
Mais, inlassablement, il poursuit sa passion de créer et dessiner des comics. Il fit paraître divers one-shots tels que « the man who loved Breasts » et « Binibus Barnabus». Il a également dessiné de courts récits dans « Mome, Project romantic » et « Bile Noire" (revue parue en françasi). Occasionnellement, il fournit des illustrations pour « Mc Sweeney’s Quarterly Concern et Criterion Collection.
Il réside à Los Angeles avec sa femme, ses chiens, ses toasters et autres gaddgets. On peut le retrouver sur le site web à son nom.

About Robert Goodin

Robert Goodin grew up in California, and started working in the animation industry after graduating from high school. He founded Robot Publishing, a collective of eight artists (including Joy Kolitsky. Anthony Yukojevich, Michael Kenny, Jennifer Yuh Nelson, Cathy Malkasian and Andrew Brandou), and published the anthology 'Oden' in 1998. In 2002, Robert Goodin left his day job and devoted himself to comics, co-editing the anthology 'Top Shelf Asks The Big Questions' and contributing comics to Kitchen Sink Magazine. Since the mid 2000s, he has been mainly working in the animator industry on series like 'Rugrats', 'As Told by Ginger', 'The Wild Thornberrys' and Seth MacFarlane's 'American Dad!'. He has continued to contribute comic stories to the Fantagraphics anthology series 'Mome'. In 2008 he released the one-shot 'The Man Who Loved Breasts' through Top Shelf Productions. 2015 saw the publication of the first book of his dark children's story 'The Kurdles', about a lost stuffed bear, who ends up with a peculiar group of characters in a home called Kurdleton.
