About Ray Dirgo

Connecticut artist Ray Dirgo is mainly known for his work on Charlton comics with Hanna-Barbera characters during the 1970's. He drew stories with among others 'The Flintstones', 'Yogi Bear', 'The Jetsons', 'Top Cat' and 'Huckleberry Hound'. Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Dirgo was a self-taught artist who went to work as a sign painter after high school. He then worked in advertising for a department store and landed an advertising job at the staff of General Electric. Text (c) Lambiek
