Milton Caniff Terry and the Pirates Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 4-16-1937(News Syndicate Company, 1937). Milton Caniff's figures and backgrounds in Terry grew more realistic and the heavily shadowed areas created a dramatic mood that quickly became a hallmark of all action-adventure cartooning.
