Tibucio de la Llave, who publishes under the name Tito, was born in Spain, but now lives in France. He studied graphic art in Sèvres in 1974 and with his colleagues from the academy, he published in the fanzine Cyclone. After working as an advertising artist, he started his first series, 'Jaunes', with writer Jan Bucquoy in the Belgian magazine Aïe!. This series was soon followed by 'Soledad', which was published in À Suivre. These two series were later continued in Circus. In 1983, Tito started a third series, 'Tendre Banlieue' in Okapi.
