Description
Just over a year after the real world's Cuban Missile Crisis, Caniff's Cold War epic Steve Canyon kept the topical tensions cranked with this tense sequence involving Communist Chinese agents and the Cuban-Soviet alliance. A classic Caniff page, emphasizing a hostage situation for heroic Steve Canyon and the suicidal wife of a traitor. Ink over blue pencil on individual panels of Bristol board, mounted to a backing sheet. Image area, 21.75" x 6.75". Very Good condition, with overall toning and adhesive seams.

About Milton Caniff
Milton Arthur Paul Caniff is an American comic strip artist best known for his comic strips Terry and the Pirates and Steve Canyon. He is considered a master of black and white. He was the fourth author to be added to the Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame in 1988.
