Six Runkels en Amborie

Mario Sénéchal is a French comic artist, who is also known as Shovel Tattoos, or simply Shovel. He was born in Amiens and attended the regional School of Fine Arts. He studied interior design in Lille and comic art in Angoulême. He lives and works on the isle of La Réunion since the mid 1990s. He is a tattoo artist, teacher and comics author, and an avid Harley Davidson fan. His first comic series was the detective comic 'Invincibles', that was published by Xio Éditions between 2003 and 2005. He then ventured into heroic fantasy with 'Six Runkels en Amborie', that was published by Episilon Editions from 2006 to 2008. His series 'Dwarf' is published by Delcourt since 2011. Shovel is a teacher in several art forms with the Fine Arts school of La Réunion and also has his comics atelier at the University of La Réunion. Text (c) Lambiek
