Description
Ito is an American comic book artist, born in the USA and now living in Japan. Renowned for his Japanese-themed comic book covers featuring traditional characters, Ito blends Western and Eastern artistic styles, creating a unique fusion that captivates audiences worldwide.
Self-taught, Ito began his career in 2018 as a freelance illustrator, and storyboard artist contributing to indie-film producers in Los Angeles California. His work, inspired by classic ukiyo-e prints and modern Western comics, gained recognition for its vibrant storytelling and intricate designs. In 2024, he collaborated with Skybound Entertainment for some of his first covers for G.I. Joe as well as the recently revealed American manga Ghost Pepper.
Since moving to Japan Ito's work continues to be inspired by the local culture of greater Asia and beyond. Recently he has begun to combine works in oil, watercolor, and other mixed media to expand the visual medium of comic books and storytelling.
