Description
"sengoku no Tora" - Historical short story by Taku Horie published in "Manga King" (Akita Shoten) 1968
Reissued in 2006 by Pan Rolling
Taku Horie is undeniably one of the great mangaka, and not just in Japan.
His most famous series is "Yaguruma Kennosuke" with its unique take on storytelling like a gun that won't run out of bullets no matter how much you shoot.
Taku Horie drew with a surreal finesse close to Shigeru Sugiura, but he also had the ability to handle fairly realistic images.
He also often drew in large frames such as one page or spread, but also outside the frame, which was innovative for its time.
