Conan is kidnapping Yasmina, the Devi of Vendhya whom he hopes to use as ransom. In the lower panels, he's being pursued by the governor and his guards. What Conan could not know is that this will lead him into conflict with a group of powerful sorcerers who had assassinated Yasmina’s brother.

Buscema and Alcala. Fire and Water. Kirby and Gustave Doré. Buscema didn’t like Alcalas ink on his pencils at all. Total different view on comics. But I think that both together did the most astonishing things.

About John Buscema
John Buscema, born Giovanni Natale Buscema, was an American comic-book artist and one of the mainstays of Marvel Comics during its 1960s and 1970s ascendancy into an industry leader and its subsequent expansion to a major pop culture conglomerate.
His younger brother Sal Buscema is also a comic-book artist. Buscema is best known for his run on the series The Avengers and The Silver Surfer, and for over 200 stories featuring the sword and sorcery hero Conan the Barbarian.
