Commentaire

With only a few years of making comics Juliette Collet has managed to make some of the most beautiful, inventive, and personal comics of recent memory. A lot of her stories feature her as a character but she is smart enough to steer clear of a lot of trappings of typical autobio comics. Part of why I like Collet is that she seems to want to express emotional honesty more than just show emotional situations, which is what I see in a lot of other comics. A voice still growing and expanding and all of it is just extremely exciting.

This page was originally featured in Quelqu’un a large format 40-page screen printed book, that was an edition of 36, Collet’s then ongoing series Blah Blah Blah which was on many year-end lists for 2022 and 2023 including The Comics Journal Yearbook: Best of 2022’s top ten comics, and finally was in the lead-off story of Clamp 5.
