Description
1). Take aged paper (exposed to light hung in studio window for several years)
2). Cook it at medium temperature in oven until edges begin to darken.
3). Copy effects to 2nd sheet (using watercolours, inks, coloured pencils)
4). Use 2H pencil to put detail into figure
5). Partially erase (!) pencil work with soft putty rubber to give faded "Leonardo look".
6). Draw over 2H pencil work with traditional Sanguine chalks/heighten with white chalk
7). Gently file edges of paper to fray them to give 16th Century appearance (ie: hand made paper/parchment, not 21st century mass market paper).
