About Stibane

Born in Liège, Jean-Claire Van Linthout (Stibane) graduated in Plastic Arts from the École Supérieure des Arts Saint-Luc. He is a Belgian comics artist and illustrator for the juvenile press. He took part in the revival of 'Petit Noël' under direction of Franquin at Marsu Productions. With Didgé, he cooperated on the erotic comic 'Le Cul et l'Écu' at P&T Productions. In the same register, Stibane and Didgé contributed to the third volume of 'Blagues Coquines' at Points Image, using the pen names Bloody & Gutsy. Stibane then teamed up with his brother Georges Van Linthout to begin the 'Les Enquêtes Scapola' series at Casterman publishers in November 2000. Together with both Didgé and Van Linthout, he went on to make 'Caméra Café', a series of comics based on the eponymous television series. Text (c) Lambiek
