About Jacques Nicolaou

Jacques Nicolaou started out making illustrations for the press, as well as two short amateur comics. In 1955 he joined the team of the magazine Vaillant, where he made several game pages. Three years later, he succeeded José Cabrero Arnal on 'Placid et Muzo', and continued this series in Pif Gadget and Placid et Muzo Poche, as well as other publications of the V.M.S. group. Unfortunately, Nicolaou could never revive the poetry of the first gags, when Arnal drew the series.
